ArchivesAmerican Idol 5’s final stop on its seven-city audition tour was Seattle, but the talent there did not impress the judges.
Simon Cowell told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer that the talent they saw was “Absolutely atrocious.”
Randy Jackson said, “There must be something in the rainwater. It makes them wild, insane, maybe depressed. I blame it on the rain.” Specifically, host Ryan Seacrest said those who are rejected “don’t understand why they didn’t make it.”
Most surprising, however, is that even Paula Abdul is dissing the talent in Seattle. Of course, she qualifies it slightly, saying, “”Every three or four people, someone comes in and actually surprises us and makes us take notice.” But otherwise, Paula says, they are “Unusually fantastically delusional.” If Paula Abdul calls you delusional, well, actually, you might be sort of normal.
