ArchivesYesterday in LA, 10,000 people got in line to audition for American Idol 6. But executive producer Nigel Lythgoe told USA TODAY that “it doesn’t look like a very talented bunch.”
Still, he says they’ll probably make good TV, as “[t]he arrogance is still here after all these seasons. Our bar goes up every single year. (That) is a problem for them.”
The AP reports that most of the about 10,000 hopeful idols each “got less than a minute to sing a few bars — and then the boot.” They auditioned in front of producers, and only those who make it through another round will be make it in front of the judges
