ArchivesAmerican Idol 6 runner-up Katharine McPhee will make Rose Bowl history when she actually sings aboard a float, according to a press release. The song she sings will be from her forthcoming CD.
Katharine will appear on the LifeSource Water Systems’ float, and the company says her performance “will be the first live (no lip-syncing) vocal performance from an entertainment float in Rose Parade history.”
The float, which is basically a moving advertisement called “Clean Water,” will feature “a lush garden setting, [and] McPhee will stand between a giant leaping frog and a working faucet gushing 400 gallons a minute of LifeSource water.”
In her fake press release quote, Katharine starts shilling for LifeSource already, saying, “I’m really honored and very excited about singing in this year’s Rose Parade. I’m a southern California girl so I’m especially happy that LifeSource has offered me this once in a lifetime experience. They’ve really been great. I’ll be singing a song from my new CD so it’ll be a big surprise!”
