American Idol 5 has the most expensive final episode this season. A 30-second ad on the finale will cost $1.3 million, Advertising Age reports.
That’s an increase from last year’s price of $1.19 million, which was less than the finale of Everybody Loves Raymond, which had $1.22 million price tag. That’s “more than double the average unit price in ‘Idol,’ which is $496,866 for the Tuesday edition and $518,466 for the Wednesday results show,” AdAge says.
Despite the high price tag, “[s]ome agencies claimed to have deals that would bring the price of a spot closer to $600,000 to $700,000,” the magazine reports.
