Paula Abdul will reportedly be paid between $5 and 8 million a year for Idol

Paula Abdul’s renewed contract for American Idol is, according to the New York Post, “worth between $5 million and $8 million each season, according to industry sources.”

Paula’s spokesperson would only tell the paper that they “do not at anytime comment on financial matters for Ms. Abdul.”

Because the other regulars have already signed contracts (Simon Cowell gets “roughly $10 million a year”), the show will pretty much stay the same for the next three years. And FOX will continue to just rake in the cash: The Post says the show is “generating more than $100 million in profits for Fox each season,” so even with massive salaries for its stars, the series is still doing quite well.
