ArchivesSimon Cowell is again predicting the winner of American Idol, which doesn’t start airing until January. The semi-final competitions haven’t even taken place yet, but Cowell says that there’s one contestant who stands out.
“The only person I can genuinely remember from the auditions that I’ve done for this season is an Irish girl that we saw in Las Vegas who now lives in America. I think she sang a Chaka Khan song and afterwards I said, ‘I think we may have found someone as good as [first season winner-turned-superstar] Kelly Clarkson,” he told the New York Post.
As the Post notes, last season he “correctly predicted that Oklahoma cutie Carrie Underwood would win” when he told Extra that “there is a blond girl who can really sing.
