The two American Idol 4 finalists are both surprised that they’re in the finals. For his part, Bo Bice doesn’t know why people like his music. “I’m more surprised than anybody. Did you not listen to my music? I didn’t know that’s what an American Idol did. For some strange reason, they dig it,” he told USA TODAY. Carrie Underwood is less candid, but still expresses shock at making it this far. She told the paper, “The last few Wednesdays were really tough. I’m excited to be part of the finale. It’s awesome. Really good things happen to the top two. Whoever thought that I’d make it this far?”
