Lindsey is first eliminated Idol 4 finalist.
American Idol 4 has lost its first (or, if you count Mario, second) finalist: Lindsey Cardinale. She received the fewest viewer votes, and thus heads home immediately. Her performance on Tuesday inspired Simon Cowell to guess that, while she was singing, “13 million TV sets in America had their volume turned down simultaneously.” She was so irrelevant that the AP’s story doesn’t even mention her elimination until the fourth paragraph, focusing instead on Mario replacement Nikko Smith’s survival. Also in danger of being eliminated last night were Mikalah Gordon and Jessica Sierra, who joined Lindsey in the bottom three. MSNBC’s Craig Berman says “the audience sent a strong signal that the men are indeed safe for a while and the bottom tier of women shouldn’t be sending out their dry-cleaning to anywhere but a same-day establishment.”
