Wylde says his audition was serious.
D-list comic and celebrity Chris Wylde tells Entertainment Weekly that his American Idol 4 audition, which aired last Wednesday, was completely serious. The magazine reports that “he really is a part-time nanny to two girls,” and says “he auditioned under his real name, Noll, informing producers of his few professional credits as Noll…though he did not mention his more extensive resume as Wylde. He says no one at Idol recognized him.” He also says that his rap was partially improvised (“Freestyle rap is what I do”), as was his swearing at the camera. Since Access Hollywood, Entertainment Weekly, and other media has picked up on the story, he is, of course, thrilled. “I could not be happier with the way it worked out.”
