ArchivesThe FOX Reality Channel has, perhaps unsurprisingly, picked up the rights to air American Idol 4 and American Idol 5. The fourth season’s repeats will air daily at 5 p.m. ET starting on Jan. 2 and end on Jan. 17, when season five debuts on FOX. Repeats of the fifth season will repeat starting in March.
Why would someone want to watch all 1,295,215 hours of Idol again? Just to relive the side-splitting homophobic humor of comedy duo Simon and Ryan? To watch Ryan Seacrest kill time? To re-enjoy the Coca-Cola product placement?
FOX Reality promises “never before seen content,” including “exclusive footage and interviews with the contestants,” which the network says in a press release means that “the whole ‘Idol’ story unfolds giving fans more of what they want to know.”
