Archivesreport: FOX looking into Paula affair.
In a week’s time, the American Idol expose story has pretty much exploded. The most recent revelation involves an internal investigation into the most explosive claim, that Paula Abdul had an affair with Corey Clark. The LA Times reported that “[p]roducers of Fox’s ‘American Idol’ are looking into allegations that judge Paula Abdul had an affair with a contestant during the show’s second season in 2003.” The paper provides practically no additional information, but adds that, predictably, “a source close to the show, which is produced by Fremantle Media and 19 Entertainment, says Abdul denied Clark’s claims when ‘Idol’ producers initially asked about them.”
Meanwhile, Paula’s people released a statement to Access Hollywood that basically says she won’t be making any statements. The full text:
“Paula Abdul will not dignify the false statements made by Corey Clark with a response. Mr. Clark is an admitted liar and opportunist who engages in unlawful activities. He is communicating lies about Paula Abdul in order to generate interest in a book deal.”
