About 21,000 people showed up to audition for American Idol 4 in Washington, DC, yesterday. That’s the largest number for a single audition in the series’ history. So many people showed up to the Washington Convention Center (as early as Monday) that “police ordered organizers to allow people inside because of the heat and the long line,” according to the AP. Judge Randy Jackson said that the quality of the performers “keeps getting better every year,” but says that for the fourth season, “The boys are better than the girls so far.”
