Tuesday’s episode of American Idol 3 was watched by 29.6 million viewers. That’s more than ABC, CBS, NBC, and UPN combined; together they were watched by 28.6 million viewers. So, we can’t really blame FOX for milking this as much as possible: Next week, a special episode, “American Idol: The Road to Hollywood,” will air on Monday to make up for the preponderance of much more entertaining non-winners featured on the first episodes. The special ep “will focus on the 117 who made it through to the Hollywood stage,” Digital Spy reports.
