Viewers didn’t call in to support any of American Idol 3’s “divas”—Fantasia Barrino, La Toya London and Jennifer Hudson—as they ended up as the bottom three. Simon Cowell referred to their performances as “the battle of the divas.” Jennifer Hudson received the fewest number of votes, and left the show. Tuesday, Randy Jackson told her, “You just get better and better every week.” The Chicago Tribune says the decision “surpris[ed] the show’s judges, viewers and even the other contestants.” Well, it surprised everyone except those people who didn’t vote for her.
