American Idol 3 will travel to Hawaii late in Sept. for the final set of auditions. From Sept. 28 to 30, auditions will be held at the Aloha Stadium, and the group will be narrowed at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel from Oct. 1 to 5, with Randy, Paula, and Simon showing up the final two days. The show’s supervising producers tells the Honolulu Advertiser that Hawaii was selected over Miami as the location for the final set of auditions, and says he expects people to fly to the island to audition. The paper also reveals a probably unsurprising part of the initial selection process, when producers select people standing in line “based on personality and charisma, with talent becoming a factor when they face judges.”
+ also: 10 out of 5,000 made the cut in Pasadena yesterday; Ryan Seacrest is 26 years old (!).
