ArchivesClay Aiken announced the birth of the baby he fathered on his web site today. Clay refers to the baby’s mother as “my dear friend, Jaymes”; she’s David Foster’s sister and Clay’s friend/producer/roommate, and was artificially inseminated.
The baby’s name is Parker Foster Aiken, who will have Clay’s last name, Clay insists on his site: “No hyphens. One first name. One middle name. One last name.” Clay reports that he “is healthy, happy, and as loud as his daddy. Mama Jaymes is doing quite well also. … We’ll share more at some point in the future.”
The baby was born at 8:08 a.m., and today is Aug. 8, 2008. So, that’s 8:08 on 8/8/8, which may or may not mean something. Had this happened two years, two months, two days, two hours, and two minutes earlier, the birth would have given comedy writers some impossible-to-ignore material.
