Warrant may be issued for Corey Clark’s arrest after he failed to appear in court
After accusing Paula Abdul of having an affair with him and being cited for battery for a food fight, American Idol 2 reject Corey Clark’s heartwarming story has a new chapter: A warrant may soon be issued for his arrest, since he failed to appear in an Arizona court earlier this week.
Corey was supposed to be in court Tuesday “to face misdemeanor charges that had been filed against him” on “charges of interfering with a judicial proceeding per domestic violence and harassment per domestic violence,” according to the Yuma Sun. That followed events this summer, when he “was arrested by Yuma County Sheriff’s deputies July 24 on suspicion of violating a court order and trespassing at his father-in-law’s residence.”
Interestingly, Corey’s wife denied to the Yuma Sun newspaper that the Corey in question was “the same person who appeared on American Idol three years ago.” But as the paper reports, “Clark has the same name, physical appearance and date of birth as the contestant who was a disqualified finalist in the show’s second season.”
