Officially making this the most ridiculous and boring scandal ever, Paula Abdul reportedly “burst into tears on the set of ‘Saturday Night Live’ just hours before she appeared in the opening sketch.” And after it was all over, Paula “was not happy with it,” a “pal” of hers tells Page Six. The gossip column also says “Abdul was asked to appear in three sketches, but agreed only to make an appearance at the end of the opening skit.” Rush & Molloy confirm this, adding “that Paula Abdul was meant to play herself for the entire sketch that parodied her recent alleged sex scandal—and even portrayed her character during the dress rehearsal in the early evening.” But then “Abdul would do only a cameo—forcing cast member Amy Poehler to step in and take over.” So tragic when one’s efforts to make fun of serious allegations go wrong.
