Paula Abdul may not “dignify salacious or false accusations” or “respond to lies, no matter how vicious, no matter how hurtful,” as she said in a statement Friday, but she will acknowledge and make fun of those accusations. Paula popped up on SNL, and at one point interrupted an SNL version of her character. During a skit featuring Amy Poehler as Paula, the real Paula said, “You need to perfect the clap a little more and be a lot more sexier so contestants will be willing to sleep with you.” MSNBC has the video if you missed it.
Meanwhile, Matt Drudge reports that “Paula Abdul feared ABCNEWS was investigating drug use for its PRIMETIME LIVE special.” The letter her lawyer sent to ABC was a “2 page warning to ABCNEWS strongly denying any wrongdoing regarding Abdul and drugs.” An anonymous ABC person tells Drudge, “It was sure odd. We were never investigating Paula Abdul and drugs, and we never asked her lawyer about any such allegation.”
