Corey says producers shouldn’t fire Paula; producer says ABC’s special was “shoddy journalism.”
Corey Clark is well on his way to becoming the biggest asshole of the year. After using his alleged affair with Paula Abdul to jump-start his career, he’s now saying that American Idol producers should lay off. He told Extra, “I don’t want to hurt her. She shouldn’t get fired.” He added that Paula “didn’t do nothing but have sex with someone. Everybody has sex. They should keep her.” Meanwhile, producers of the show are criticizing ABC News for its “reporting.” Producer Nigel Lythgoe told MTV.com that the ABC special was “pretty shoddy journalism” and said “[t]he whole show was stretched out worse than one of our elimination shows. It was probably four or five minutes of content.”
