The final two American Idol 2 contestants are Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken, after Kimberly Locke was eliminated at the end of last night’s hour-long wait. The more than 19 million votes resulted in a “less than a 4 percent difference between all three” finalists, host Ryan Seacrest said. At the end of the show, he said there is “less than two percent of the vote separating these two guys.” The show concludes next week, when FOX will air three episodes in an apparent attempt to redefine the world “overkill.” The first of the four hours will air Monday at 8 p.m. ET, with the first half of the finale airing Tuesday at 8 and the second, two-hour half airing Wednesday at 8. Of course, only the last two minutes of the last hour on Wednesday will matter.
+ also: Clay was rejected from a FOX affiliate’s local version of AI last fall.
