Corey Clark will stand trial for battering his 15-year-old sister.
American Idol 2 finalist Corey Clark was charged in December “with resisting arrest, battery upon his sister, and criminal restraint,” according to The Smoking Gun. A complaint filed against him says he “without legal authority restrain[ed]” his sister. He goes to trial on April 15 in Kansas; unless he’s kicked off the show or voted out by then, he’ll also be performing live on TV that night. The Smoking Gun also reports Corey has also been “sued by Wal-Mart for passing more than $600 in bad checks” and was “sued by a Topeka grocery store where he allegedly passed a bad $50 check.”
+ update: Shortly after the news was released, FOX announced that Corey has been removed from the competition.
