American Idol 2 finalist Vanessa Olivarez made a comment to Ryan Seacrest that was clearly scripted, and the next night she was voted off the show. Vanessa tells TV Guide that she thinks the remark “very well could have hurt me. But you know, you live and learn. It sounded funny in rehearsals, but it just didn’t come across that way in the show.” She also says that some of the show’s staff apologized to her after she was eliminated. Vanessa is doing well, however; she says she’s received acting-related offers, and had dinner at Melissa Etheridge’s house after running into Etheridge’s partner Tammy Lynn Michaels in a mall.
