Idols will become PC/PS2 games; was Wed.’s ep a “bait-and-switch” “sham”?
Joining the American Idol karaoke game next fall will be a game for the PlayStation 2 and PCs that allows users to interact “with a computer generated Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell, with trademark insults” as you “create, style and train a contestant for the competition,” according to game creator Codemasters. To win, you’ll have to “[m]atch the right combination of buttons to what’s displayed on the screen and your contestant sings a sweet harmony and dances to the rhythm of the song.” The game will be released this fall; the company also plans to produce a version of the game branded for the original UK show Pop Idol, Reuters reports.
