Advertisers who want their product whored left and right on American Idol 2 will pay more than any advertiser has in history for a similar package on a reality TV show. FOX will charge $26 million for “an integrated marketing package,” more than doubling the amount charged by Survivor for similar product placement, according to Ad Age. Both Coca-Cola and Ford will return as advertisers for season two, but won’t pay the full price because they participated in the first season; FOX is currently seeking a third major sponsor.
