Syndicated American Idol will debut in September
The syndicated version of American Idol will be known as American Idol Rewind, and it’ll be edited to not waste your time, unlike the regular version.
The episodes will be edited to “include never-before-seen footage shot during that first season … and new footage that focuses on how key contestants lived through their ordeals.” A press release calls the new show “streamlined” and “fast paced.”
Tribune is distributing the series, which will start airing on weekends in September. The show “has already been cleared on Tribune and Sinclair stations representing 55% of the country and nine of the top 10 markets,” Variety reports.
