Kelly Clarkson trashes apartment in new video for “Since You’ve Been Gone.”
In her new video, American Idol’s Kelly Clarkson will “rip her sweetheart image to shreds,” according to MTV, as she trashes an apartment that apparently belongs to the girlfriend of her boyfriend. MTV runs down the new video for “Since You’ve Been Gone,” which is off her new album Breakaway and will be directed by Alex De Rakoff. After washing birth control pills down the drain, she’ll be seen “tearing at the fabric of the pillows on the bed, filling the room with feathers” and then later “attack[ing] the clothing with a pair of scissors.” She’ll also smash a glass table, dump CDs on the floor, and set the American Idol logo on fire. Wait, not that last part. As a New York Times piece on former Idols trying to stretch out their fame, “RCA executives are releasing her CD to try to ride the wave of holiday sales and to capitalize on the popularity of her hit ‘Breakaway,’ from the ‘Princess Diaries 2’ soundtrack.”
