review of American Idol finalists’ CD calls it an “unbearable collection.”
The new compliation album that features the 10 American Idol finalists, which was released yesterday, gets an F from Atlanta Constitution-Journal reviewer Craig Seymour. He says the CD sounds like “overproduced karaoke” with its “unbearable collection of cover tunes.” He also discusses Justin Guarini’s “cloying, castrated quality” and Tamyra Gray’s “thin and mawkish” voice on the album. USA TODAY reviewer isn’t quite as harsh, saying the album “isn’t entirely soulless.”
