A man with a “car full of rifles, handguns and loaded magazines” was arrested Friday at the entrance of CBS Studio City on his way to the set of American Idol, KACL 9 reported. However, the man, who was working for a set construction company building American Idol sets, turned out to be “[a] weapons enthusiast with a trunkload of antique guns” and “whose hobbies include participating in historical battle re-enactments,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. The paper reports he was “taken into custody for questioning” and so far “no charges had been filed.” Big Brother 3’s house is also located on the CBS Studio City lot.
+ plus: in the UK, BBC Twi plans series like Pop Idol—but with historic buildings as the contestants.
