American Idol judge Simon Cowell, a record label owner and producer, says “he has already chosen the contestant he intends to sign to his record company—even if the contestant is not chosen by the audience as the winner,” according to The New York Times. Of course, Simon does not say who that person is. The Times’ Hilary De Vries spent an evening with Simon and found him to be “far more amiable than he appears on television.”
