with three candidates left, American Candidate turns voting over to public.
Three candidates remain on Showtime’s American Candidate: Park Gillespie, Malia Lazu, and Lisa Witter. Keith Boykin, who came in first place more often than the other candidates, was eliminated after a three-way debate in Philadelphia. On this week’s episode, previously eliminated candidates will return to compete for VP spots, according to a Showtime press release. After Sunday’s episode, viewers—all seventeen of them—will be able to vote for candidates via text messages and a toll-free number. The penultimate episode airing on Oct. 3 will show the elimination of the lowest vote-getter, and then the public will once again vote for, this time for who will be named the American Candidate.
