American Candidate

DC players among the candidates.

DC players among the candidates.
A few of the hundreds of American Candidate profiles belong to people who aren’t unfamiliar with politics. These DC players are likely looking for exposure or trying to advance their ideologies, not unlike, say, Dennis Kucinich. But unlike Dennis, they’re people you’ve probably never heard of unless you live in DC and think the universe ceases to exist outside of I-495/I-95. Here are a few of the quasi-pseudo-famous candidates competing for a spot on the Showtime program (let me know if you spot others): Gary J. Caruso, the Clinton administration’s Congressional and public affairs director, and a former House of Representatives staffer; Draft Wesley Clark’s John Hlinko; Out for Dean’s Chris Cooper; The Cato Institute’s chairman Bill Niskanen; Cato communications assistant Mathew S. Klokel; and Doug Green, who once had his picture taken in front of what appears to be the White House sign in the briefing room.
