ArchivesCutler: American Candidate network announcement coming “very soon.”
Three months after FX dropped plans to produce American Candidate, which came a while after HBO dropped the show, producer RJ Cutler says he’s “confident we’re going to have an announcement to make very soon” about a new network for the show, the AP reports. If it makes it to air, Cutler says the 18 people on his show “will represent alternative points of views. New ideas. Fresh ideas. We want to find new voices for leadership in America - in an entertaining, compelling, dramatic way.” The 18 people would be chosen by a panel and narrowed by the audience, and the winner would be selected at a convention and then choose whether or not to run for President after that.
