A&E orders 18 more episodes of Airline.
A second season of Airline is in the works. Once again, the show will follow the passengers and crew of Southwest Airlines. Production on 18 new episodes will begin soon at Chicago Midway, Los Angeles International, and—new for the second season—Baltimore-Washington International. Ratings have been strong for A&E, although these numbers would make the major networks cough up their lower intestines. The Dalls Business Journal reports that “the 13 original episodes of the show have averaged 610,000 young adult viewers, with a median age of 46, which “has increased A&E’s 10-11 p.m. ratings by 53 percent among adults ages 25-54.” The airline is happy, too. Its CEO, Colleen Barrett, says, “I’m proud of how the employees of Southwest Airlines continually go above and beyond to help customers when extraordinary situations pop up.” The show airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET.
