The day after A&E’s Airline airs, Southwest Airlines gets more than three times the regular number of applications for employment. According to Reuters, the airline “typically receives about 180 job applications a day, but that number regularly nears 600 on Tuesdays after the show airs Monday nights.” Chicago employee Val Brown says that’s curious: “I guess for some people, the idea of working in chaos and conflict appeals to them.” Season two, featuring 26 episodes filmed at three airports, will debut July 5.
