ABC renews Shaq vs., Dating in the Dark, but not Conveyor Belt of Love

ABC is bringing back two mediocre reality shows this summer: Shaq vs. and Dating in the Dark. But there is no mention at all of Conveyor Belt of Love getting a full season after airing a single special earlier this year—which is disappointing, but not really a surprise considering ABC executive Steve McPherson mocked it when critics asked about it.

Shaq Vs. is the overly scripted and heavily produced competition series that features Shaq taking on other pro athletes in their sports, and Dating in the Dark features people going on dates in a pitch-black room, and it wasn’t terrible but wasn’t great, either.

Six episodes of the dating show will air this summer, Variety reports, and a separate report says that the six episodes of Shaq’s series will be “placing him in other competitions such as spelling bees or competitive eating,” but he’ll still do athletic competitions.
