Amazing Race producers casting Catch Me (a TAR knock-off?) for ABC

The producers of The Amazing Race are casting for a pilot of a new ABC reality series that sounds like a knock-off of The Amazing Race with a little bit of The Mole thrown in.

The show, Catch Me, is described as a “heart stopping reality competition” and it “is currently searching for outgoing, dynamic teams of two who live in the Chicago Area” and “have an adventurous streak and a good poker face,” according to ABC’s web site. It’s executive produced by Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri along with Jerry Bruckheimer.

Joe Adalian reports that “ABC chief Steve McPherson developed ‘Race’ when he ran Touchstone Television (now ABC Studios)” and has “wanted to develop a new reality hit with the same team ever since.”
