ArchivesMTV has revealed the 10 cast members of its new series 8th & Ocean, and the good news is that, besides the fact that they seem more ethnically and culturally diverse than a typical MTV series cast, they’re all half-naked and hot.
The show is produced by the same people who brought us Laguna Beach and Rollergirls, and they’re clearly on a mission to change the look and feel of reality TV forever. The series watches through the lens of a drama as the “models live together in a beachfront apartment complex, each trying to make their way in a glamorous yet very demanding industry,” and MTV says it “shows you the hard work and human drama behind the glossy fashion spreads.”
MTV’s annoying “broadband channel” Overdrive has a preview, which also aired on MTV last night. In short, the series looks awesome, like the offspring of Laguna Beach plus Top Model—but for grown-ups, or at least for people over the age of 21. There’s apparently plenty of cattiness, bitchiness, and drama, but not entirely empty and pointless.
The show debuts March 7 at 10:30 p.m. ET.
