2013′s most-searched reality TV

It’s that time of year when everyone compiles lists of things from the past 11 months, because who cares what happens in December. That includes search engines, which have released lists of what people were looking for most this year. Of course, reality TV shows and stars are among those things.

Google’s most-searched-for TV shows includes only two reality series: #2 Duck Dynasty and #15 Big Brother. I think you can include The Bachelor there, too; although it does not appear on that list, Bachelor spoiler Reality Steve is #3 on the list of most-searched-for blogs, and my educated guess is that the primary reason people search for his blog is to find Bachelor information and spoilers.

Incredibly, NBC’s bomb Ready for Love was the third most-searched-for TV finale, behind #2 Buckwild, whose star died this year.

Also, the Jenners and Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough made the celebrity break-up list.

On other search engines that people apparently actually use, reality star Kim Kardashian was the second-most popular search on both Yahoo and Bing this year. Bing’s list of most-searched for TV shows includes #2 American Idol, #6 Dancing with the Stars, #8 Big Brother, #9 The Bachelor/ette, and #10 Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

Bing also has a list of most searched reality stars: #1 Kim Kardashian, #2 Bruce Jenner, #3 Snooki, #4 Ryan Seacrest, #5 Khloe Kardashian, #6 Kris Jenner, #7 Honey Boo Boo, #8 Kourtney Kardashian, #9 Kendra Wilkinson, and #10 Kate Gosselin.
