Survivor’s Emmy submission: the episode with Dawn’s teeth

One of the few strong episodes from Survivor Caramoan is the episode CBS is submitting for Emmy consideration for the show: “Zipping Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.”

That’s the episode that features Brenda’s fishing expedition for Dawn’s teeth–and the exit of Phillip Shephard. In my recap, I said the episode was “nearly perfect,” and in a season that had a lot of low points, this was a high, both in terms of the construction of the episode and its content. So, a smart choice.

A DVD featuring the episode appeared in a pull-out folder ad CBS included in Emmy magazine for the network’s three non-embarrassing reality shows, including Undercover Boss and The Amazing Race, which included episode seven from season 22 “for your Emmy consideration”: “Be Safe and Don’t Hit a Cow.”

Review: Married at First Sight

Marriage At First Sight

In an era of Tinder and Grindr, instant acceptance or dismissal of a potential partner, or instant sex with another body, Married at First Sight offers the thrill of watching strangers deal with the very basics of relationships.

Beyond the headline-grabbing premise, the series has turned out to be a stripped-down, authentic exploration of something very interesting. Read the full review.
