Britney Spears quit/fired from X Factor

The X Factor judge/bad investment Britney Spears won’t return for its third season, joining L.A. Reid in quitting Simon Cowell’s ego trip. She’s quitting in advance of being fired, according to reports.

MTV News reports that “sources close to the production confirmed to MTV News on Thursday (January 10) that the singer has quit the show because she knew she would not be asked to return for this fall’s third season.”

TMZ first reported this, clearly from the perspective of Britney Spears’ is camp, as their story said “Britney loves the show but wants to focus on her music.” Sure.

That said, she did have a fan in Fox president Kevin Reilly, who told TV critics earlier this week that Britney “did a really good job.” At helping people create GIFs, yes.
