Taylor Lautner is “really into American Idol,” wants credit for Nikki Reed meeting Paul McDonald

Twilight star Nikki Reed and American Idol 10 finalist Paul McDonald married a few months ago, having met at the premiere of Red Riding Hood, a moment broadcast on the show. But the romantic narrative of meeting as part of one of the Fox show’s egregious and time-wasting product-placement segments is being challenged by Twilight star Taylor Lautner, who wants credit for their relationship because he’s a big fan of the singing competition.

Nikki told the New York Daily News that Taylor “seems to think he deserves a lot of credit” for connecting them because “Taylor is really into “American Idol” and encouraged her to watch the show last season, so she was familiar with the show and Paul when they met.

Last week, Paul and Nikki’s first song together, “Now That I Found You,” was released.
