Amazing Race gets a 20th season

CBS announced today that it has ordered a 20th season of The Amazing Race, which will air in the spring of 2012.

The only real surprise here is that the announcement came so early; typically, the show is renewed one season at a time, and was renewed for its fall season three months ago. Starting with season 19, host Phil Keoghan is becoming an executive producer.

There were no details about the 20th season in the release, though it does still insist that season 18 included “former fan favorites.”
