Summer 2011 reality TV debut schedule

Just as Memorial Day signals the start to summer, the end of American Idol and debut of So You Think You Can Dance is the unofficial start to the reality TV season. From the summer standbys to brand-new shows, there’s a lot coming up this summer to plan your vacation around.

This is a frequently-updated list of officially announced debut dates for new and returning reality series (feel free to send updates, additions, and corrections, which are always welcome). For shows that premiered before May 23, see the winter schedule.

Times listed are ET, and, as always, TV networks sometimes change schedules, so check your cable guide or other TV listings for changes or repeats. For up-to-date news on more popular shows, click the [news] link that follows it.

Eaten Alive

Discovery Channel’s happy family holiday special Eaten Alive aired Sunday, rewarding viewers for their two full hours of viewing by ensuring that they spent quality time in the company of others instead of wasting that time doing something else that might not have been as satisfying, such as buying things that have labels which accurately reflect their contents.
