Winter 2011 reality TV debut schedule

The new year has brought with it a lot of new and returning reality TV shows: More than 25 series debut in the first 15 days alone, and it just gets crazier from there when series such as American Idol, Survivor, and The Amazing Race return. Just send a link to this page to the next person you encounter who asks if reality TV is going away soon; it’s easier than punching them in the face.

Below is a frequently-updated list of officially announced debut dates for new and returning reality series (please feel free to send updates, additions, and corrections, which are always welcome). For shows that premiered before Jan. 1, see the fall schedule.

Times listed are ET, and, as always, TV networks like to mix up their schedules sometimes, so check your cable guide or other TV listings for changes or repeats. For up-to-date news on more popular shows, click the [news] link that follows it.

The Sing-Off loses its star

Ben Folds

NBC's super-fun December a capella singing competition The Sing-Off is returning, but without its star judge, Ben Folds, and only as a two-hour special. Those are really depressing changes for a series that proved itself to be a super-fun show when it returned last December.
