Jillian Michaels is getting her own NBC series, but will stay on as a trainer for The Biggest Loser. Each of eight episodes of the new show, Losing it with Jillian, will follow Jillian as she actually moves in with a family and helps them lose weight and otherwise change their lives for a week.
“In a way, it’s a response to the comments we always get on ‘Loser.’ We always hear, ‘It’s so easy to lose weight when you move into the camp and you’re living with trainers’ and ‘Would they really be able to lose the weight if there wasn’t money on the line?’ Here we’re giving you realistic tools and a realistic environment to transform your life and the life of your family,” she told the Hollywood Reporter. Chef Curtis Stone, who’s currently a cast member on The Celebrity Apprentice 3, will also be featured.
On Facebook, Jillian wrote that it “looks like I will shoot after BL9 and it will air summer 2010,” and added, “I WILL be staying with Biggest Loser as well. My show is different. You do not need to be morbidly obese to apply! You can be a couple as well as a family. But… be careful what you wish for. Living with me is no walk in …the park.”
She won’t yell, though, because she says that’s part of her “character” on The Biggest Loser. Right. “On ‘Biggest Loser,’ I play a character of sorts. This show is very different. I’m not going to scream at a 10-year-old. You’re going to see different aspects of my personality, and it’s more about the big picture and not just being skinny,” she said.
