Mark Burnett will be the first reality producer to get Producer Guild’s Norman Lear Award

Survivor and Apprentice executive producer Mark Burnett will get the Producer Guild of America’s Norman Lear Award early next year, becoming the first reality show producer to receive it.

In a statement, the PGA said, “Mark Burnett is an extraordinarily gifted and prolific producer who has truly changed the television landscape with his award-winning reality programming. Mark has made a tremendous impact on the television industry worldwide, and we look forward to honoring his remarkable achievements.”
