Jamie Foxx’s From Gs to Gents debuts tonight

From G’s to Gents, a sort of Charm School for men who haven’t been on another reality series, debuts tonight at 10 p.m. ET. The show is a competition for $100,000 between 14 men who need “to lose the front, learn self-respect, realize their self-worth and market themselves accordingly,” according to MTV, and despite MTV’s insistence upon terrible apostrophe usage, pluralizing Gs with an apostrophe, the guys apparently won’t learn grammar.

The show is executive produced by Jamie Foxx for some unknown reason. Executive producer Cris Abergo told critics last week that the show is different because “this is really about wanting to change and wanting a transformation. … It was more transformational and with these guys wanting to make this change.”

The show is hosted by Fonzworth Bentley, the author of Advance Your Swagger: How to Use Manners, Confidence and Style to Get Ahead. Foxx isn’t featured regularly, but will appear. “At some point. I will pop up,” he told critics.
