Survivor Micronesia easily won its timeslot last night, but the “fans versus favorites” twist didn’t cause a spike in viewers; in fact, it lost more than three million viewers the reverse.
The debut episode was watched by 13.69 million viewers, according to a CBS press release. That helped it continue its streak, as the show “has been Number One in viewers in the Thursday, 8:00-9:00 PM time period in every broadcast since February 2003 (‘Survivor: Amazon’) and first in adults 18-49 since September 2004 (‘Survivor: Vanuatu’),” according to a press release.
Ratings were significantly down, however, from the past few seasons of the show: fall’s Survivor China (15.1 million viewers) and last spring’s Survivor Fiji (16.7 million viewers). Two years ago, 19.3 million watched the debut of Survivor Panama.
