Bravo’s Welcome to the Parker debuts tonight

Bravo’s latest docudrama reality series Welcome to the Parker debuts tonight at 10 p.m. ET. However, the first episode has been online since Tuesday, on Bravo’s web site and Yahoo! TV, MSN, Windowsmedia.com, TV Guide.com and Zap2it.com.

The show follows life at the Parker Palm Springs hotel, which Bravo says includes “the inherent drama, exhausting lives and complicated relationships between the top-notch hotel staff and their exacting and sometimes very particular guests.” Insufferable Top Design judge Jonathan Adler, who designed the hotel, also apparently shows up, although he’s not listed as a permanent cast member.

The few advance reviews for the show are mixed. The New York Daily News’ David Hinckley says “[t]he staff is unmemorable” and there are just “fleeting moments of entertainment.” And The Sacramento Bee’s Kevin McDonough says it “does a good job of illustrating the difficulties of the high-end service industry … But it never quite demonstrates why we should care.”

Review: Married at First Sight

Marriage At First Sight

In an era of Tinder and Grindr, instant acceptance or dismissal of a potential partner, or instant sex with another body, Married at First Sight offers the thrill of watching strangers deal with the very basics of relationships.

Beyond the headline-grabbing premise, the series has turned out to be a stripped-down, authentic exploration of something very interesting. Read the full review.
